Meditation: November 18

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” John 12:32

Those who are drawn to Jesus by the Spirit are kept by the Spirit. The mysterious magnetic pull of the cross of Christ produces within the heart of the believer a willingness to fully follow after Him even when circumstances are difficult. They see the sacrifice that He has made in contrast to the challenges that lie before them and equate all in light of what Jesus Christ has already done. This is not the easy believe(ism) or our day where many are attracted to the trappings of success in this life and the glory that comes from others. It is a heart commitment to fully follow Christ in all that He may assign as a part of our journey. They lifted Him up as an enemy to their doctrines and lifestyles by crucifying Him. He transformed what would have been defeat into victory. Now the message of the cross of Jesus must be preached throughout world in order for any to be drawn by dimensions of love never known before. Love was the motive for Him to die for our sins which were many. It is the acknowledgement of sin and its effect upon our lives and our world that would bring one to understand the necessity of His sacrifice. Are you drawn to Christ today? He was lifted up and His message is now being preached throughout the world providing an opportunity for you to be delivered out of the bondage of sin and its affect to the glorious liberty that only He is able to provide.

Meditation: October 13

“Now I’m alert to God’s ways; I don’t take God for granted.” Psalm 18:21 (THE MESSAGE)

Things that we have grown accustomed to are often taken for granted. The sin of familiarity can often breed contempt. God’s ways are not our ways. He does what pleases Himself. Our wishful thinking and reasoning cannot alter what He has decreed. He looks beyond the limited view seen by us from where we are stationed in the theater of life. He is able to see the whole story from every viewpoint. When we dose off into a slumbered state and by default allow our minds to question God’s wisdom. He alerts us with a wake-up call and reminds us that He is God and we are mere dependent earthlings, yet loved by Him with a sacrificial love. The slack is jerked out of our loosened lifestyles and we acknowledge Him again as being our only security and hope. Now that we are alert, we must always stay that way. Our worship is determined by our continual awareness of God’s love, presence and unlimited power.

Meditation: September 14

“For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.” Ezekiel 36:24

People who are in exile are a people removed from their place. We see Israel being scattered among the nations and some taking on the character of the nations where they had been forced to occupy. Sin does not ask for our permission, but imposes its character upon those who occupy its territory. A culture of sin produces a people who readily adapt to the environment. It is then difficult for them to remember what God’s original intentions were for their lives. They merely see what others are doing and seemingly enjoying and adjust to their standard of living. But God stands up and makes His Presence known among them. He lets them know that even though they are in a strange place, Israel still carries His name. When His name is hallowed among the nations and a difference is made known by them to the other inhabitants, then deliverance will come. God will bring them into their own land. He is says to us, are we to represent Jesus where we are. Should He only be honored in Church? What about the workplace? The places where His name is profaned require a people who would stand up for Him there. We deny Him when we are in strategic places and are ashamed of the gospel and acquiesce to the lifestyle of others. We must stand up and stand for righteousness regardless of what price we may have to pay. God will then deliver us into our own place of promise if we are willing to take a stand for Him right here.

April 2016 Article: “From Death to Life”

God’s order is the opposite of our normal way of thinking. Human reasoning would have you to believe that death is the final act of nature, the ultimate sealing of one’s fate. Yet God looks at life differently and reveals Himself through nature. Contained within every created thing is the mystery of life, where one can clearly see His plan of redemption. First, death itself is redefined. The reality of death is sin; a life lived by those who are ignorant of life’s purpose. Sin is defined as “missing the mark.” Their attempts to make life meaningful only add to their confusion and frustration. When life is lived arbitrarily without the knowledge of God’s original intent, nothing is left but to live life under the shadows of dreadful death. The fear of death becomes the obsession, since no one is able to fully describe what exists on the other side. Yet the magnetic pull of sin attracts one to what he fears the most and blinds him to the consequences. “The wages of sin is death.” Jesus beautifully illustrates salvation as an anticipated death. He first speaks of Himself and then how every human being might participate in His death.

“But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. (24) Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. (25) He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (26) If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”(John 12:23-26)

He came to die in order for death to occur in all of us. His original purpose for our original design is hidden in the seed that fell to the ground and died. Once we fully identify with His death as the needful act on God’s part for what we deserved, then His life can be made manifest in us. No longer living in a mummified state of existence of selfish ambition and gain, but freed from grave clothes that bind one of free expression. Freedom is not merely the ability to do as one pleases, but rather to do what pleases God and finding pleasure in pleasing Him. The seed does not remain alone but reproduces after its own kind. Christ is experienced and made known in graveyards of politics, business, entertainment, education, and religion. When we influence every sphere of life with the fragrance of Christ, we will produce a passion and desire in the heart for something more than the mere lifestyles of the rich and famous. Oh, if people only knew how much they are missing by engaging in the exercises of competitive living and hedonism, they would rush in the direction of the only truth that can set them free!

With the fear of death removed and replaced with the promise of eternal life, one is able to give himself or herself completely to God and come to know Him as Father. Anything less than this is merely a pacifier in the mouth of a crying baby who will soon discover that there is no nutrition in it. It was merely placed there to keep him from crying. We don’t have to merely imagine that there is a God. He is more than willing to reveal Himself to each and every one of us, but a polluted heart full of envy, jealousy, and pride will shroud His image. When one wills to die to his self-life, He will kill him so that He might be resurrected to spirit life. There is life after death…and to be very frank, the only life worth living is preceded by death. Come and die! Come to Jesus and live!

Meditation: March 9

“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.” James 3:13

It appears to be a misnomer to use wisdom and meekness in the same sentence. Wisdom often elevates the pride of many who become even wiser in their own eyes. Godly wisdom is always to be accompanied with meekness for those who receive wisdom from God are constantly aware of its source. Whenever we lift our intellect to a level above that which requires simple faith, true knowledge would be eclipsed by vanity. Strong and convincing arguments may be impressive, but causes the mind to erode into believing a lie when the truth cannot yet be proven. The meek of the earth are teachable and can learn in order to participate with God in what He is doing. The wise and the prudent cannot even see it as being important, thus live their lives as contradictions even to their own beliefs. God will bring both beliefs and lifestyles into one. We can then live and speak what we truly believe.

Meditation: February 12

“Don’t run roughshod over the concerns of your brothers and sisters. Their concerns are God’s concerns, and he will take care of them. We’ve warned you about this before. (7) God hasn’t invited us into a disorderly, unkempt life but into something holy and beautiful — as beautiful on the inside as the outside.” 1 Thessalonians 4:6-7 (MSG)

The care and concern we share with the brethren reflects the character of Christ that we possess. We share with them the love so richly bestowed upon us that is now demonstrated through us as an extension of God’s love. Our love must be intentional. Unless we are deliberate in our lifestyles to share the life of Jesus, the message would be shrouded by our careless living. We have been transformed into a vessel of honor. The riches of His grace reside within us as a priceless treasure. What more could we ever want other than a complete and glorious expression of life brought forth through us by way of His Spirit? Therefore we live for Him and He lives through us touching and changing all things by His renewing power. Praise God for the beauty of holiness!

Meditation: January 14

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9-10

The act that becomes a habit, the habit that equates into a lifestyle of doing good, is the life we have been called to live. We enter into the life and experience of Christ and grow into giving a fuller expression of Christ. It has to do with a new nature of the believer. He focuses his attention on the Lord, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit will compel him to do things that are pleasing to the Father. It is easy to begin to feel used and not appreciated by the recipients of your benevolence. There are even times when it may even feel that all of your efforts are in vain, but God has promised benefits to those who would remain faithful. You will first reap the reward of being like Jesus when we see Him as He is, then we will be enabled to enjoy all that God offers throughout eternity. We are being changed to appreciate heavenly things and heaven’s order on the earth so that we are made fit to love God and to enjoy Him forever.

March 2015 Article: “Changing Times and Law”

Daniel 7:25 “He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time.”

“Times have changed, so you might as well get on board with it.”
“This is a new day; people to do not think nor feel that way anymore.”

These sentiments, along with many others, are all too familiar phrases that have become the conversation of our times. Timeless truths have become archaic and replaced with jargon that often embarrasses weak individuals into a position of compromise. No longer is it considered cursing to blatantly use God’s name in vain; in fact, God or Jesus are names that are edited out while profanity is proudly and openly pronounced. Daniel prophetically viewed this day long before we entered into it. People speak pompous words while finite man matches his wits against the infinite God. A theory based upon an experiment in pursuit of relative information holds a tighter grip over the minds of students attending institutions of higher learning. Things must make sense to the person before they can be given any consideration. These occurrences are not merely coincidental, but a part of the strategic plan of God’s enemy, Satan. When the profane is legislated into law and ratified by those who are in power, there is no question as to whether those who agree threaten God to show His hand and question whether He still has the power to do so. Pompous words are full of pretense and the false projection of having the answers to every question and knowing everything there is to know. The proud hide behind their language and their ignorance is camouflaged by their abilities to express their futilities.

“They shall persecute the saints of the Most High.” This is the message to the saints regarding the lifestyle they have chosen. Those who contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints stand in the way of their preferences. Unfortunately, many have not merely chosen the life that they live, but rather, know no other way. These are the children of the children of disobedience that grew up in an environment of rebellion. Believe it or not, the saints are being persecuted today. They are being silenced locally, even in Egypt where 21 were recently beheaded and arrested as hatemongers for rebuking sinful acts. Although the persecution has intensified over time, it has gone unnoticed by many who refuse to engage in any controversy. They play it safe by merely saying what people wish to hear and entertaining the crowd. In Northern Nigeria, the Middle East, and many other regions, religious persecution is dominating the headlines of the news. This is that day where the Word of God must be preached even in an unpopular season. The cost of discipleship requires self-denial and taking up a cross of conflict and the spiritual sensitivity to fully follow the Lord Jesus Christ in His mission.

‘But the court shall be seated, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it forever. (27) Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.’ Daniel 7:26-27

God will have the final word! He will unseat those who presently reign in life and establish His rule among the people of the earth, and His reign shall be forever and His kingdom an everlasting kingdom! Do not be deceived by appearances. God will not be silent as His opposition is now giving voice to their opinions.
