Meditation: December 14

“Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few.” Ecclesiastes 5:2

Many are the thoughts of an active mind. Thoughts rush in as life’s experiences appear to build a defense against the truth. The rational mind is only able to see certain aspects of any situation. Our position on earth limits us from seeing the whole picture. Therefore, we must trust God who sees all and knows all before we wrongly judge a thing. Guard your heart from becoming bitter as result of circumstances. But by all means, guard your tongue from speaking idle words or rash words void of knowledge. Only the truth that comes down for heaven is able to produce within you the confidence that is needed. God in heaven has a panoramic view of all things and know how they are able to synergize together for the good of those who love Him. He gives knowledge both ahead of time to settle you.  But in times of reflection or in retrospect or reflections you will see that He was there all the while working in ways in which He alone is able. Therefore let your words be few and not spoken in haste, but wait on God to show you what He is in the process of doing.

Meditation: December 2

Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.” Hebrews 12:27

The voice of God speaks from heaven and the earth is shaken. God’s Word has the power to disturb the false peace that resides upon the earth when it is not according to His design. Our lives must be established on the principles of His doctrine unless we too will have a false sense of security merely to be shaken by the calamities that are sure to come upon all who live their lives in disobedience to His will. He stands alone as the Creator of all things. He has the authority over and the design for the whole of His creation. They are unstable without His Spirit bringing all things into proper order. The Word of God may appear obsolete in our day. The true ministers of God may seem to have lost their significance among much talk and activity that in God’s eyes is meaningless chatter. God has both a heavenly message and gives a heavenly vision to those whom He has called to represent Him on the earth. It is His Church established upon the revelation of Jesus Christ that will remain when all other things have failed.

December 2015 Article: “Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room”

Before the arrival of Jesus Christ, Earth had yet to receive the full expression of the Father’s heart. His requirements had been made known through the Lawgiver, Moses and His compassion had been expressed through the poetry and songs of David. Additionally, His disappointments and displeasure had been expressed through Malachi and many of the prophets. Yet none had ever known the full message of the Father towards mankind. While His heart was large enough to engulf the world and all of His creation, He willed to express more than glimpses of what was seen through creation. Then God sent One who throughout eternity reflected His full intentions. He, God in three Persons, was in full agreement with Himself. Not three numerically, but three in interaction in order for love to be complete with a witness. Love is not love without an object of expression. His love was complete before He created anything. When He said, “Let us make man,” He was speaking of the eternal preexisting love that proceeded from heaven to earth. It is not the same caliber of love for animals, plants, and other living creatures in this expression. He was in fact saying, “Let our love extend to an earthly creature that we might share with the created what we have exclusively known.

God loved Himself by having an eternal Son to love. He was not self-absorbed and selfish, but His eternal love preexisted and gave birth to all living things. Our dominion over His creation, ability and assignment to reproduce after our own kind occurs because we were made after His own likeness and image. We will care for His creation because we love and honor the Creator. We will reproduce and replenish the earth with a godly seed because we desire to see the earth filled with the expression of His divine intentions. No other reason for living life other than to glorify God and show forth His glory throughout the earth. Yet, the divide between God and man produced by the infraction of sin that blinded him from seeing that which was from the beginning. He then can live his life based upon what the world and his life became rather than God’s original purpose. Therefore, God sent the Son of His love to the earth so that all would be able to both hear and see the perfect will of God. That which was from the beginning has now been sent to the earth, with all of its hostility against God, to allow rebellious man to give expression to His fallen nature. Sin is not merely having one’s own way. It is the attitude expressed towards God and His gift to the world through His Son.

Some would second guess God’s intentions by saying, “If God loved us, He would love us in a way that we could completely understand.” They reconfigure a god after their own fallen nature and ill intent directing their attention towards an accommodating deity whose purpose falls short of holiness or perfection. Their reinterpretation of His Holy Word eliminates all portions that would convict of sin, but speaks of a debilitating love that cripples rather than transforms. Then it becomes much easier for disinterest and total rejection to occur among succeeding generations. Our children reject that to which they cannot completely commit. A diluted truth filters down to a level where truth itself becomes obsolete. His Son was crucified by a blind generation since His Presence was an intrusion within their activities and an obstruction to their intent. They could no longer do what they will to do without the reference of His coming to the earth. But He rose from the dead! His Spirit, or the power of creation, is now available to all. Let earth prepare Him room. Then heaven and all of nature will sing as result of earth’s release from the curse brought upon it through man’s rebellion. The relinquishment of his authority to care for the earth and the people as result of God’s love can now spread to every nation.

Meditation: September 17

“My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places” Isaiah 32:18

God provides security for His own people. Though competitive and threatening storms of life rise on occasion, but God’s peace quiets us in the midst of the storm. We dwell is the secret and secure place where the activities of discord and doubt dwell on the outside rather than within. He will keep us here in this place of perfect peace if we maintain our focus on Him and not on the storms. God knows how to navigate the ship in the most troubled of waters. When facing the greatest of difficulties, we do not desire a novice to be at the helm. Experience counts best when it is needed the most. Jesus has triumphantly passed through every barrier on earth including death. He, as our High Priest, has now even passed through the heavens. There is no experience on earth, or in heaven that the Man, Jesus Christ is not completely familiar. We can hold fast to the confidence and not waver because of some misfortune that may be strange to us. What He has already done He is able to do with us and in us as long as we remain where He has placed us. This is our resting place because of the assurance that we have in knowing that God is with us. He is working all things together that each part may contribute to a completed life for our good and for His glory.

Meditation: July 22

For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”  Hebrews 8:5

God gave Moses specific instructions as to how to build the Tabernacle. It was not arbitrary, but rather what God showed Him while he was in His Presence was the design for its construction on the earth. It requires both hearing and seeing from heaven to engage in such a sacred task as leading others in the way of God. We are not here merely to survive, but our lives are to be lived with such exactness as to leave a legacy for those who come after us to follow. They must see Christ in us if they are ever to impact their generation. They are to build upon the foundation that we have laid. The baton is passed from one hand to another. Even though great things are accomplished by those who are mighty in the eyes of the world, none of what they say or do will receive any rewards in heaven. It is only those things shown to us by God and proclaimed in concert with the whole Body of Christ that God will honor as His work. Take heed what we hear and how we hear it. The pattern of God in heaven is to be reflected on the earth.

Meditation: March 4

“Daily expect the Day of God, eager for its arrival. The galaxies will burn up and the elements melt down that day — but we’ll hardly notice. We’ll be looking the other way, ready for the promised new heavens and the promised new earth, all landscaped with righteousness.” 2 Peter 3: 12-13 (MSG)

The coming of the Lord will attract the attention of those who are eagerly awaiting His return. While all things around us are being shaken, and nothing appears to have any degree of stability, there remains a constant focus in an upward direction in spite of all other things that would otherwise be disturbing. God has promised that He would send His Son again to the earth. If the earth could not receive the words of the prophets and the world rejects His standard, it is not the world on which His kingdom will be established. He will descend, but above the earth while the heavens and the earth is burned with fire. Then He will establish new heavens and a new earth where righteous will reign. But then it will be under the rule of those who are kept by His power and anticipate His return. They will hardly notice the destruction of the old because they so eagerly await what God has to replace it. Sin is now running it course, but do not be discouraged. God will restore all that is now being destroyed by sin and those who have given their souls over to it. When those things are completely removed, His Day would have fully come!

Meditation: October 9

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world…” but now My kingdom is not from here.” John 18:36

Jesus is the King over all the earth, but His authority does not come from among the earth. The political parties and their divides are not the determinants of His allegiance. Nor is He limited and controlled by the popularity polls of a shifting societal opinion. His rule is exclusive to what heaven has ordered and demands. God knows the outcome of every decision that appear to be right but often lack the stability and character to even last beyond even one election year. He allows us to take wild guesses in our attempts to move things forward and afterwards await our request to eventually ask Him what He has always known. His kingdom is not of this world but our references are too often worldly. When we come to understand that the true answers and resolve to our most perplexing questions and problems lie beyond this world, we will begin with Him and end with Him. His kingdom comes to invade our own kingdoms. He superimposes over what we had once established when we yield to Him. Otherwise, all that opposes must be dismantled and be replaced with what He originally had in mind.
